Sullivan One-Way Starter Replacement Shaft ***PRE-ORDER SPECIAL PRICE***

Hand made by Rob Bingham in the United Kingdom, this is a direct replacement hex shaft and hub for the Sullivan one way starter. This is made with a phosphorus bronze bushing and designed to fit the existing Sullivan one-way starter wand. 

The hub is CNC machined from high quality 115CrV3 high carbon steel, chosen specifically due to its high resistance to corrosion. The shaft is also heat treated to 55 Rockwell. The hub can be reused over and over again by simply replacing the shaft only. The shaft will be soon available by itself. However, the hub is needed in order for the shaft to fit the one-way Sullivan adapter.

In order to install this on your existing Sullivan one way coupler, you will need to remove the soft brass bushing, this can be done with a drill as the brass bushing is really soft. You then replace that soft brass bushing with the supplied Phosphorus Bronze hard bushing. The new bushing can simply be pressed into the Sullivan nose section using a small bench vice.

In testing, we found the 6mm diameter hex shaft to be extremely durable with over 1000 engine starts between the testers of the unit. It is also a much better fit into the hex couplings on all of the models we tested it on. The phosphorus bronze bushing and the shorter than original shaft length provide a much smoother feel with very little ‘wobble’ feeling from the starter.
